How this calculator works

Recreational-vehicle loans are typically fixed-rate installment loans secured by the RV. The amount financed is the purchase price less the down payment.

Payment = P × i ÷ (1 − (1 + i)−n)

Total interest is payment × n − P, and the total outlay adds the down payment. RV loans often run longer than car loans, which lowers the payment but raises the interest.

Rates depend on the lender, the RV's age, and your credit, so use your own quote.

Frequently asked questions

What amount does the calculator finance?
The RV price minus the down payment. Everything after that is amortized over the term you choose.
Why can RV loan terms be long?
RVs are expensive and hold value differently from cars, so lenders sometimes offer longer terms. A longer term lowers the payment and raises total interest.
Is a travel trailer treated the same as a motorhome?
Both are secured installment loans for this calculation. Lenders may price them differently, so enter the rate you were offered.
Should I include taxes and fees?
This tool covers price, down payment, rate, and term. If you finance taxes or dealer fees, add them to the price you enter.
